Happy summer, everyone! Thank you to all who joined us for the Dvořák Stabat Mater and Beethoven Choral Fantasy — it was a truly magnificent concert. We were thrilled to welcome our gorgeous new performance and rehearsal piano — a 1907 Rosewood Model B Grand Steinway — acquired with the help of generous donations from Ronald and Luanne Balzano and beloved chorale member Cindy Knuth. We’re looking forward to enjoying the rest of the summer, then it’s on to another season of music!
Our upcoming season really does have something for everyone – from Carl Orff’s raucous Carmina Burana (with the acclaimed New Haven Symphony Orchestra to kick off Maestro Boughton’s final season in New Haven), to Mendelssohn’s iconic Elijah, and everything in between. We hope you’ll join us!Details and tickets
This is the second time I’ve heard FCC perform Carmina Burana, and last evening certainly lived up to my memory of how well it was performed the last time. It is such a difficult piece rhythmically that I am impressed with the ease with which FCC went through it. In my opinion, there is nothing better than a wonderful night of great music to start the holiday season, so thank you so much!
