FCC Named Artist of the Year

Chorale sponsors Mozart Requiem Sing-In
Nearly 500 people remembered the victims of 9/11 in song on September 11th at a Sing-In of Mozart’s Requiem. The Fairfield County Chorale sponsored the event, which was conducted by Christine R. Howlett, accompanied by David Connell, and featured soloists Mary Ellen Callahan, Kate Maroney, Mark Boyle, and Curtis Streetman.
The event was part of a nationwide 10th-year anniversary 9 11 11 Requiem of Remembrance Project. Similar to the "Rolling Requiem" that occurred on the first anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, this year's event started on the East Coast and rolled from time zone to time zone, as FCC joined choruses from Long Island to Hawaii in a wave of remembrance with the healing and transformative power of Mozart's incomparable music.
St Thomas Aquinas Church generously co-sponsored the event. Proceeds benefited Voices of September 11th, (voicesofseptember11.org), a New Canaan-based charity supporting families and others impacted by the events of September 11th.
