Please join us on Sunday, June 1st for our next musical extravaganza where the star of the show is a Klais pipe organ. The Fairfield County Chorale together with two rising professional soloists Heather Petrie (Alto) and Christopher Grundy (Baritone) will accompany the organ in a selection of beautiful musical pieces by our favorite composers.
Our concert will take place at First Congregational Church of Fairfield which is home to a very special organ designed and built by Orgelbau Klais, a German firm that designs, builds and restores pipe organs. A family run company founded in 1882 by Johannes Klais senior, it is now run by his great-grandson Philipp Klais.
Our program includes Duruflé’s Requiem, Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine, Mendelssohn’s Three Hymns, Brahms’s Geistliches Lied and Messiaen’s
O Sacrum Convivium.
