Beethoven’s virtuosic Choral Fantasy will feature the rich tones of the magnificent Steinway piano the Chorale recently acquired with the help of a generous donation. Our season concludes with Dvořák’s Stabat Mater, the composer’s deeply personal exploration of a parent’s loss. The Stabat Mater is a profoundly moving work with one of the most unexpected climaxes ever written, the triumph of faith and belief over despair.
